Meet the Team

  • CEO/Founder

April Preyar, The JustUs Junkie, is a criminal defense attorney, TV legal analyst, and educator. She has been practicing law for over 23 years. Preyar has represented thousands of criminal defendants and hundreds of plaintiffs in civil rights matters for police misconduct.

After practicing law for nearly two decades, Preyar became disheartened by representing individual defendants, in their criminal court cases, one at a time, one case at a time. She realized that although she often prevailed, that her clients and their families left court with little understanding of what their constitutional rights were, how the court system worked or how to avoid future trouble.

Accordingly, she created JustUs Junkie, an educational social media platform, which teaches criminal law in plain language using videos. Preyar quickly developed a cult-following, garnering 1.2 million views overnight on her 3rd video. However, she wasn’t reaching the youth with her message, only their parents and grandparents.

Preyar developed an original board game called, Trials & Triumph. This educational tabletop game teaches teens 7 rules of police encounters through 54 real-life scenarios.

She created STREET LAW REVOLUTION curriculum to reinforce the principles taught in the game and on her social media pages. Preyar’s secret sauce is her knack for breaking down complex legal concepts into every day terms that children can understand. This same skill has landed her on television as a legal analyst over 75 times on local, national and international networks.
